Festivals and food babies

Another busy day in Seatts.  We started off our day at the Northwest Folklife Festival--it was great. It was like the Raspberry festival times 22, on drugs (i.e., marijuana . . . I could smell it everywhere).  People were performing everywhere (a lot of bands like what I would imagine James would join if he didn't ever shower) and there were many booths.  There were actually bagpipers, and when they started performing Aubrey began doing the fling.

Part-way through, we went to a sushi place nearby for lunch.  And naturally, I spilled soy sauce on myself (I don't think the trip would be complete without me spilling something)--but don't worry, I cleaned it up.  The sushi was so delicious.  Yum.  Most satisfying thing I've eaten all week.

We went back to the festival for a bit after lunch.  (There was a lady who had a little baby wallaby!!)  And then started our journey through town on 1st Avenue to Pioneer Square.

I really enjoyed seeing all of the cool architecture in the older part of town.  Next was the coolest part of the day--and Underground Tour of Seattle.  It was AWESOME!!!  A lot more to explain than I have energy to type right now, but if you look up the history, you'll understand why.  And our tour guide was hilarious, so that made it all the better.

After the tour we went and sat on the pier for a little bit before dinner.  Dinner was at a New Orleans restaurant where a jazz band was performing--super awesome as well.  We had delicious shrimp and oyster jambalaya that made us very full (hence "food babies" in the title . . . we're laying on the ground of her apartment right now, still extremely full).

After dinner we went and bought some food for tomorrow.  And that was the day!!  Tomorrow we'll just go to church, explore a little bit, and then take the lightrail to the airport.  It's been such a wonderful trip--I'll be sad to go.  But don't worry, I'm excited to see you.
